We Need Platforms To Regulate Events in Jos – Dr Elvis

The city of Jos has proven to be a hub and also, an export for talents and gifts in the past years. From the rise of M.I, Ice Prince, Jesse Jagz, Kevin Pam and a host of other great entertainers dominating the entertainment sphere, it has been a classical proclamation of “Jos to the world” in every conversation encircling the world of music, sports, and whatsoever drags the human interest as our boys are “making us proud” in all they do.

Recently, there has been conversations on the clashing of events and the way out in curbing the spilt of audience when there are peculiar similarities to one’s event.

Many have proffered that there be more collaborations, harmonising within persons in order to drive home the mandate of peace and tourism, all to little or no avail in the past months.

In a conversation with Joey Off-Air Podcast, Elvis Katlong Henry popularly known as Chef or Dr. Elvis – the convener for the Jos Food Festival responded that in order to regulate the “jam” and unharmonious clashing of events in the city of Jos, there should be well spelt bodies that’d regulate the activities of events and on what dates they should appear.

“The problem with Jos is that there are no regulatory bodies saddled with the responsibilities of event control in Jos. There are no event planners hence no proper planning as to how events are to flow. Since it is a my “guy” thing, people just pop up and carve out events to suit them”, Dr. Elvis told Joey Off-Air Podcast.

He further went to address the issues on cloning of events saying, he do not let the little ones matter. Stating that his brand is a well established one and would continually be; also, offering a platform for whosoever wishes to be a part of it as it is “open” for them all.
