BREAKING: Kidnapped Plateau Doctor and Wife of Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Lalong, Rescued by Police

The Plateau Police Command on Tuesday said, it had rescued the wife of Silas Vem, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Deputy Governor of Plateau, and a medical doctor, Samuel Audu who had been reported kidnapped on Sunday, the 9th of January, 2022.

Both parties were kidnapped in a separate operations, leading to unrest in both families and the state.

Addressing newsmen, the spokesman of the Plateau Police Command, ASP Ubah Gabriel said that both victims were rescued by a combined team of the police and other security operatives within the state.

He, however, couldn’t explain if there was any ransom paid by the families of the victims.

This is deemed as a proactive measure by the police force, following the series of ritual killings plotted by suspected “Yahoo Boys” as well as other criminal and nefarious activities and the promise by the state governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong to make the state inhospitable for criminals.

Gov. Lalong who spoke recently expressed outrage over the recent cases of ritual killings in Jos as well as kidnappings which have become a source of concern to the government and citizens.

“I am deeply saddened by the activities of criminals who are trying to disrupt the peace of our State. Of much concern is the recent cases ritual killings which are suspected to be carried out by yahoo boys that security reports indicate are migrating to Plateau”, Gov. Lalong said.

“Let me warn that we will make Plateau hot for you and ensure that the State vomits you. After so much work we have done to restore peace and security, we will not fold our arms to see criminals take over. I warn you to vacate Plateau because our people want to live in peace. You have no place here”, he added
